Good morning! Today is another very busy day, but I wanted to pop-in to say, "Hello".
"Keep smiling because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."
I recently was cleaning and moving things around in my house while getting ready for company, and I thought about my grandmother. My mother's mom was a combination between Martha Stewart and Paula Deen. She loved every aspect of hospitality! She passed away a couple of years ago and there have been several moments recently when I have gotten a little teary. I spent many hours sewing, quilting, and cooking with her. Even though she didn't live long enough to see me get married she taught me many of my homemaking skills and she contributed quite a few items to my hope chest. I have often wished to tell her how much I love cooking from the cookbooks she made or how beautiful her handmade quilt looks in my guest room.
Here are some of my treasures. ♥♥♥
The Frances Virginia Cookbook was from a tea room in Atlanta, Georgia that my grandmother frequented as a child.
Everything she made turned out perfect.
One of the greatest gifts my grandmother shared with me is her laughter. She always managed to find the silver lining in the cloud. I want to be like her."A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Proverbs 17:22
"Laughter is the SUN that drives winter from the human race." -Victor Hugo
